I just set up a new computer with Excel 365 and XLS Padlock 2024.3. At first, it worked fine, but since yesterday I cannot start my protected workbooks anymore. I open the exe file, but nothing happens. I really cannot see anything happening, no error, no activity in the task manager, nothing. I tried rebuilding, but it did not help. And I have no idea where to look. My colleague can still run the workbook, but I cannot.
Any ideas?
Have you installed a recent Windows update? Or do you have an antivirus software? Finally, you can also check the Windows Event Viewer (Applications) to see if there is some crash involved here.
The last Windows Update is from December (KB5048162, KB5048667).
Antivirus is Trend Micro.
In the Windows Event Viewer I could not find any error or any other message.
XLS Padlock 2024.3 works fine with the two Windows Updates you listed.
Since there is no error in the Event Viewer, the culprit may be Trend Micro. Have you checked its log or try to temporarily disable it while building your EXE files?
