Client got error: "Add-in 1 System Error. Code: 29 An unexpected network error occurred" How to resolve this?

I was wondering if running VBA macros is possible without MS Excel. Maybe rewriting it in VBScript, running with WSH. If there was a possibility to make an app in VBA and run it as standalone app with your security system I would be more than happy. Maybe you have a solution?

I have some ideas: some clients reported that they have used Open Office before instaling Microsoft Office, maybe xlsx/xlsm files are not opened by proper program? maybe antivirus software deletes macros?
